RECENTLY, labour issues have been making the headlines. Human Resources Ministry reported that over 5,100 employees have been retrenched in the finance and insurance industries since January 2016.

As of December last year, some 478,100 people or 3.3% of labour force were unemployed in our economy – and the economy is not in a state of recession.
