BNM Financial Stability Report 2015 highlights:

* Banks had high degree of earnings resilience and conservative earnings retention policies. Retained earnings remaining relatively stable at RM68.7bil (2014: RM70.1bil) at the system level.

* Equity and tier 2 subordinated debt issuances lower at RM22.3bil (2014: RM26.5bil), in part due to the effect of Basel II capital instruments being gradually phased out under Basel III (2015: RM6.6bil; 2014: RM8.5bil).
