The FBM KLCI was up 7.39 points or 0.44% to 1,684.42 at 5pm. Decliners beat gainers by 668 to 268 while 321 counters were unchanged.

A 70:30 joint venture between Hock Seng Lee Bhd (HSL) and Dhaya Maju Infrastructure (Asia) Sdn Bhd has clinched a RM1.71bil contract to develop and upgrade a stretch the proposed Pan Borneo Highway in Sarawak from Bintangor to Julau and Sibu Airport to Sg Kua Bridge. Read more

Berjaya Sports Toto Bhd’s net profit for the third quarter ended Jan 31 was halved to RM58.3mil from RM104.6mil a year earlier mainly due to lower revenue contribution from its principal subsidiary, Sports Toto Malaysia Sdn Bhd. The lower profit was also affected by refund of RM18mil stamp duty paid pursuant to the rescission of the share purchase agreement (resulting from the aborted listing of Sports Toto Malaysia Trust on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Ltd) in the previous corresponding quarter. ECM Libra Financial Group Bhd has ceased to be a substantial shareholder of Singapore-listed fund manager ISR Capital Ltd as its stake has been reduced from 5.17% to 4.6% due to the increase in the latter’s total share capital due to its bonds being converted into 50 million new shares.

Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) and the vendors of China-based edible oil producer Zhong Ling Nutril-Oil Holdings Ltd have mutually agreed to further extend the completion date of the conditions precedent for the share sale and purchase agreements signed in February to a day not later than April 8, 2016, or such other date as may be mutually agreed on in writing. On Wednesday FGV has obtained the approval of the Finance Ministry, which was one of the conditions precedent. It also needs the green light from Bank Negara for the proposed acquisition.

Enra Group Bhd
has sold a further 30% stake in Landmark Zone Sdn Bhd, which is undertaking the Shamelin Star mixed property development project in Kuala Lumpur with a GDV of RM341.6mil, for RM13.9mil in cash. Read more
