KUALA LUMPUR: Mass Rapid Transit Corp Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) has opened the bidding for 41 retail spaces at 21 elevated stations of its MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line.

In a statement on Friday, MRT Corp said interested parties must submit their business proposals and bids by April 18, 2016.

Commercial land management director Datuk Haris Fadzilah Hassan said the company hoped to award the spaces to successful tenants by end-June 2016.

“About 30% of the units were allocated for bumiputra entrepreneurs. We are looking for retailers with exciting business ideas and services, suitable for commuters with fast-paced mobility and urban lifestyle,” he said.

Haris said small and local businesses were encouraged to apply.

“MRT Corp would open more retail spaces in the future,” he said.
