A Zecon Bhd-Kimlun Sdn Bhd joint-venture has secured a RM1.46bil contract to build and upgrade phase 1 (Serian Roundabout to Pantu Junction) of the Pan Borneo Highway in Sarawak. The RM29.9bil toll-free highway project will cover 2,239km in Sabah and Sarawak. Read more

Soon-to-be-listed Ranhill Holdings Bhd’s special-purpose vehicle Ranhill (Yongxin) Water Co Ltd has won a 29-year concession to operate a wastewater treatment plant in Maoping Industrial Park in Jiangxi, China. Independent “burn-in” service firm KESM Industries Bhd’s profit attributable to owners of the company more than tripled to RM7.0mil in the second quarter ended Jan 31, 2016 from RM2.09mil a year earlier due to higher demand for all services. The company, which services the electronics and semiconductor industries, posted a 211% jump in profit to RM15.06mil for the first half-year compared with the same period in the preceding financial year.
