SEOUL: South Korea’s central bank kept its policy on hold and its chief suggested he was not ready to ease policy soon, dampening bond futures prices and bolstering the won currency.
The Bank of Korea’s (BoK) monetary policy committee held the policy rate steady at record-low 1.50% for a ninth consecutive month. One of the seven members voted for a 25 basis-point cut, as he did last month.
