Backing from shareholders for RM5.7bil Ncell stake purchase

KUALA LUMPUR: Axiata Group Bhd, which posted its highest ever revenue of nearly RM20bil in the financial year ended Dec 31, 2015 (FY15), has secured its shareholders’ approval to acquire an 80% stake in Nepal’s number one mobile operator, Ncell Pte Ltd, for US$1.365bil (RM5.67bil).
