Sabah Ports Sdn Bhd, a unit of Suria Capital Holdings Bhd that has been made the implementing agency for the RM800mil Sapangar Bay Container Port expansion programme, will more than double the port’s handling capacity under the programme’s initial phase. The port currently handles about 70% of the total container throughput of Sabah. Read more 

Construction firm TSR Capital Bhd has bought land in Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, from Habib Jewels managing director Datuk Seri Meer Sadik Habib and his wife, and it plans to develop two office tower blocks there with an estimated gross development value of RM230mil. Read more

Oil and gas service firm Dialog Group Bhd’s second-quarter net profit fell marginally to RM78mil from slower upstream activities and lower sales in specialist products and services.

Aluminium Co of Malaysia Bhd (Alcom) is on track to return to the black for the financial year ending March 31, 2016 after three years of losses. It swung to a net profit of RM2.14mil in the nine-month financial period ended Dec 31, 2015 from a loss of RM3.93mil previously, leading the group to expect it will close the financial year with encouraging results.
