AWC wins RM90mil deal for Shah Alam Hospital maintenance

The long awaited Shah Alam is just one of the amenities that will ensure the state capital becomes a highly sought after residential, commercial and business enclave.

PETALING JAYA: AWC Bhd has secured a RM90mil sub-contract for the five-year maintenance of the newly completed Shah Alam Hospital.

The company, which provides facilities management and engineering services to building owners, told Bursa Malaysia that the Government had accepted the tender submitted by its facilities division for the project.

The subcontract, which covers engineering, cleaning and maintenance works, is effective from March 1, 2016.

The 300-bed Shah Alam Hospital was completed and launched on Jan 1.

The company is already involved in maintenance works in the healthcare segment, maintaining the Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital and all state government clinics in Johor.

“The subcontract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings of the AWC group over the duration of the subcontract,” it said.

AWC shares gained 1 sen to close at 42 sen on Monday.
