PETALING JAYA: Domino’s Pizza Malaysia plans to open 25 outlets this year, with the most being in the Klang Valley, Domino’s Pizza Malaysia and Singapore general manager (operations) Shamsul Amree Ab Rahman said.

He said the opening of the new outlets would involve an initial investment of RM20mil and entail upgrading and improving its online ordering service and facilities.

The company will spend between RM300,000 and RM500,000 to open each new store, he told reporters after attending the launch of Domino’s latest product, New Cheesy Mozarella Stix, at a Domino’s outlet in USJ1 in Subang Jaya on Friday.

Shamsul Amree said Domino’s Pizza Malaysia opened 22 outlets last year and planned to open two outlets in Pengkalan Chepa, Kelantan and Gong Badak, Terengganu soon.

On the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA), he said the company was undertaking a study to ascertain its impact and benefits on Domino’s Pizza Malaysia.

On the New Cheesy Mozarella Stix, he expects it to contribute between 10% and 20% to the company’s sales, especially during the Chinese New Year festive season.

The New Cheesy Mozarella Stix will be available at an introductory price of RM7.80 for four pieces, starting from Feb 15 onwards. - Bernama
