KUALA LUMPUR: SapuraKencana Petroleum Bhd has secured three contracts with a combined value of US$117mil (RM503mil) to provide engineering and construction and drilling services.
SapuraKencana said on Thursday the first contract was to undertake the hook-up and commissioning works for KNPG-B Phase II, Kinabalu non associated gas development for THHE Fabricators Sdn Bhd.
This would involve commissioning the compression system module and high pressure high temperature (HPHT) facilities on the KNPG-B central processing platform.
The contract is for eight months and work is expected to start the first quarter of 2016.
The second contract awarded by Hess Exploration & Production Malaysia B.V. was for the sub-sea isolation value systems at Block PM302, North Malay Basin.
SapuraKencana said the contract was for 18 months. It has since started and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2017.
As for the third job, it is to provide a semi-tender assist drilling rig "SKD Esperanza" to Sarawak Shell Berhad / Sabah Shell Petroleum Co. Ltd.
The contract is for 18 months with options to extend for up to a further 18 months.
As for SapuraKencana Drilling Holdings Ltd’s tender assist drilling rig “SKD T20” offshore Côte d'Ivoire, it said the contract was expected to be completed in June of 2016, adding to the original contract term.
“Additionally, there is the option to extend the contract by five additional wells, which if exercised, will keep the SKD T20 on contract to the final quarter of 2016,” it said.
