PETALING JAYA: After a long drought of new projects, securing a new power deal in Indonesia is certainly glad tidings for YTL Power International Bhd in this Christmas season.
The earnings prospects of the multi-utility company - whose business interests include power generation, water and sewerage services and telecommunications - are expected to improve over the long term after bagging a US$2.7bil (RM11.6bil) contract to build two units of 660MW coal-fired power generating facility in West Java, Indonesia, under a 30-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the republic’s national utility firm PT PLN (Persero).
