The regulator had on Thursday afternoon issued the food and seasoning company with the unusual market activity (UMA) query.
However, thge query prompted some profit taking and at 3.30pm, it was down 15 sen to RM9.10. There were 59,000 shares done at prices ranging from RM8.89 to RM9.30.
Its share price had surged from RM7.30 on Dec 10.
Bursa Securities had advised investors to take note of Ajinomoto’s reply to the unusual market activity query which would be posted at Bursa Malaysia’s website.
The regulator had asked the company whether there was any corporate development relating to the group’s business and affairs that had not been previously announced that may account for the trading activity including those in the stage of negotiation/discussion.
Bursa Securities also asked whether there was any rumour or report concerning the group’s business and affairs that might account for the trading activity.
