AET names Rajalingam as president/CEO

KUALA LUMPUR: American Eagle Tankers (AET), the petroleum unit of Malaysian energy logistics group MISC Bhd, has appointed Captain Rajalingam Subramaniam as its president/chief executive officer, effective Jan 1, 2016.

In a statement on Friday, AET said Rajalingam has been overseeing the running of AET since July alongside his role as vice-president fleet management services at parent company MISC.

MISC president/CEO Yee Yang Chien said AET is a core part of the MISC Group and will play a significant part in the group's future.

"I have every confidence that he will continue to uphold the high standards that our customers and other stakeholders rightly demand from an ocean carrier, said Yee.

On accepting the role, Rajalingam said: "I am delighted and honoured to take on this role. It comes at a time when the markets are just beginning to recover and when our fleet is rejuvenating and growing its breadth of capabilities.

"AET has a bright future and I look forward to being a part of that."

Rajalingam holds an MBA from Universiti Utara Malaysia and is an Honorary Commander of the Royal Malaysian Navy. - Bernama
