Comfort Gloves investing RM20mil in new plant

PETALING JAYA: Comfort Gloves Bhd is investing RM20mil to build a three-storey integrated examination glove plant.

The project will involve the construction of a new manufacturing facility, packaging and warehousing facility, laboratory facilities as well as auxiliary and ancillary equipment required to manufacture examination gloves.

Construction cost is expected to be financed from internally generated funds.

“This facility will help provide additional output to meet growing customer demand for the group’s product. Significant improvements in automation and manufacturing systems will be incorporated in the integrated facility.

“Construction is expected to be completed by the end or beginning of the second quarter of the financial year ending 2017,” Comfort Glove said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

The expansion is not expected to have any material effect on the net assets, gearing and earnings of the company for the financial year ending Jan 31, 2016.
