Trading ideas: YTL Power, Daya Materials, Econpile, CLIQ Energy

KUALA LUMPUR: YTL Power, Daya Materials, Econpile and CLIQ Energy are among the stocks which could see trading interest on Friday, says JF Apex Research.

It said YTL Power won the bid to supply power from its existing 808-megawatt (MW) power plant in Paka, Terengganu, to the main grid for two years and 10 months from March 1, 2016.

Daya Materials bagged a €17.7mil (RM88mil) subcontract from Axima Concept SA of France, to provide marine heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment and services.

As for CLIQ Energy, it plans to raise at least RM210mil (US$49.95mil) through a rights issue, to address the potential shortfall between its trust account cash and payment of the initial US$90mil for its qualifying acquisition (QA) of a 51% stake in Phystech II Joint Stock Company.

Econpile was served an arbitration notice from IRDK Ventures Sdn Bhd (IRDK), over a disputed non-performance of a contract, for which it is demanding almost RM120mil in damages and loss of profit.

JF Apex Research said on the external front, US stocks closed higher with the Dow and S&P above key psychological levels of 17,000 and 2,000, as investors digested the Federal Reserve's September meeting minutes. Similarly, European markets eke out gains on higher oil price.

At Bursa Malaysia, the FBM KLCI rose 2.95 points or 0.17% to close at 1,692.20.

“We expect the local bourse to test its resistance of 1,700 today on positive US lead and gains in oil prices,” it said.
