PUTRAJAYA: Independent power producers (IPPs), whose power purchase agreements (PPAs) will be expiring soon, will need to apply for an operating licence in order to be able to continue generating electricity for sale to Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) under a newly launched mechanism called the New Enhanced Dispatch Arrangement (Neda) after their contract ends.
“They (IPPs) will need to have an operating licence to standby for the bidding process under Neda,” the Energy Commission (EC) chief executive officer Datuk Ahmad Fauzi Hasan told reporters after the launch of Neda here yesterday.
