Foundation for Asean’s single capital market

KUALA LUMPUR: Asean needs to lay the foundation for a single capital market, with strong commitments from all member states to help develop each other’s market, CIMB Group Holdings Bhd group chief executive officer Tengku Datuk Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said.

He said that developing a single capital market, which included standard regulatory framework and accounting treatment across the region, was in line with the Asean Economic Community’s (AEC) objective of a free flow of goods, services, skilled labour, investment and capital.
