Stronger smartphone demand boosts Inari pre-tax profit

KUALA LUMPUR: Inari Amertron Bhd’s pre-tax profit for the financial year ended June 30, rose to RM151.7mil from RM107mil last year.

Revenue increased to RM933.1mil from RM793.7mil previously.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company attributed the higher revenue to higher trading volumes, in particular the radio frequency business due to the continued increase in demand for smartphones and mobile devices.

“The improved pre-tax profit is mainly attributed to the increase in revenue coupled with favourable US dollar forex during the financial year under review,” it said.

On prospects, Inari Amertron said it would continue to integrate and improve the operating margins of its optoelectronics business and ride the growth of the mobile smart device market.

It is cautiously optimistic of maintaining its financial performance in line with the industry growth numbers and is poised to continue delivering positive performance in financial year 2016. — Bernama
