Petronas Chemicals seen benefitting from weaker ringgit

PetChem

PETALING JAYA: The weaker ringgit would help to sustain Petronas Chemical Group Bhd’s (PetChem) profitability, amid lower demand and price for fuel additives and fertiliser products.

Due to the current crude oil prices, Maybank IB Research said there were general weaknesses in demand and price for fuel additive products. Demand for fertiliser products is also fairly weak due to lower demand from planters, as a result of falling commodity prices and increasingly unpredictable weather pattern.
