Wahid: Malaysia economy solid, can weather economic uncertainties

PUTRAJAYA: The country’s economic structure is solid and will be able to weather the economic uncertainties stemming from the Greek crisis and the current lower oil price regime, according to Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar.

Contrary to widespread perception, Wahid said that Malaysia’s economy today had very much “diversified” from key commodities such as oil and gas, plantations and the mining sector, where prices were influenced by the world markets.
