KLCI, key Asian markets slide on Grexit woes


KUALA LUMPUR: The FBM KLCI fell nearly 23 points or 1.3% at midday on Monday in line with key Asian markets after Greece's referendum on Sunday, where they rejected the bailout terms.

The ringgit weakened against the dollar at 3.8108 from 3.7795 the previous close, the weakest in 16 years.
 
At 12.30pm, the KLCI fell 22.60 points to 1,711.64. Turnover was 881.8 million shares valued at RM574.38mil. There were 93 gainers, 630 decliners and 199 counters unchanged.
