Plantations among top losers

KUALA LUMPUR: Plantation stocks were among the top losers in the first hour of trade on Friday as funds sold the stocks on the last trading day of May.

At 9.50am, the FBM KLCI fell 8.52 points or 0.49% to 1,747.04. Turnover was 332.25 million shares valued at RM188.68mil. There were 198 gainers, 236 losers and 205 counters unchanged.

KL Kepong led the losers’ list, down 22 sen to RM20.78.

PPB Group turned negative to lose 18 sen to rM14.90.

Plantation heavyweight IOI Corp lost 11 sen to RM3.94. It was removed from the Securities Commission’s Shariah compliant list and its deletion accounted for a market capitalisation of RM25.70bil.
