KUALA LUMPUR: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has included the Amanah Saham Bumiputera 2 (ASB2) into its member's investment scheme list of approved funds.
"With the addition of the ASB2, there are nine funds offered under the list managed by Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd," said the EPF in a statement on Friday.
The scheme allows members to transfer part of their savings in Account 1 for investments in approved unit trust funds through Fund Management Institutions (FMIs), and offering them the option to enhance their retirement savings.
EPF deputy CEO (Investment), Mohamad Nasir Ab Latif said under the scheme, members may transfer not more than 20%, every three months, of the total savings from Account 1 in excess of their respective Basic Savings Schedule.
Members will be duly advised on the effective date of listing of ASB2 into the EPF member's investment scheme list.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohammad Najib Abdul Razak announced during the tabling of the 11th Malaysia Plan that Bumiputera individual equity ownership would be enhanced by allowing withdrawal from Account 1 of the EPF to purchase units of the ASB2.- Bernama
