Whip the wallet — it takes will power!

The world we face in the future may be like that in the Avengers movie where a higher authority decides what is best for us. We need to fend for ourselves, maybe not against artificial intelligence robots but against goods and services tax (GST), rising prices, lower returns, high medical or school fees, and so on.

A gym friend said GST was inevitable. We agreed prices had increased. A mum I met at my eldest daughter’s Chinese independent school chatted with me on many issues. The crux was whether our kids could face hardship and create a living for themselves in the future.
