Card transactions to normalise soon

PETALING JAYA: A top official at RHB Bank Bhd expects credit card transactions to “normalise” from July onwards, after a 6% dip in April, as consumers adjust their spending habits post-goods and services tax (GST) implementation.

Credit card spending rose 10% during the first quarter of the year, according to RHB Bank executive director for group retail banking U Chen Hock, before tapering off in April after the GST was implemented.
