Investment income growing at double-digit


RETIREMENT Fund Inc’s (KWAP) investment income grew in the double-digit of an average of 13.96% from 2009 to 2013. Since it was incorporated in 2007 to help the Government cover its pension liabilities for its pensioners numbering 600,000, KWAP has delivered an average gross return on investment (ROI) of more than 6% annually.

As of Sept 30, 2014, KWAP had an asset size of RM107.68bil, with a gross realised investment income of RM4.37bil. Out of its total investments, equity takes up the biggest chunk at 33.66%, while loans and private debt securities make up 28.92%. Malaysian Government Securities make up 28.43%, while international equity and international property make up 3.96% and 3.23%, respectively.
