US, European stocks worth a look

KUALA LUMPUR: The more attractive valuations of US and European stocks compared with emerging markets, as well as their exposure to global consumption trends, are opportunities for investors to take advantage of, says Franklin Templeton Investments.

The global investment firm’s Singapore-based portfolio manager Alan Chua said that on a sectoral basis, consumer, energy, financials and healthcare were overweights, with European followed by US stocks being the cheapest. Among Asian markets, he picked South Korean stocks as attractive, with financials and autos among the preferred sectors.
