KLCI extends losses, Maybank weighs


KUALA LUMPUR: The local bourse was lower at the midday break on Friday with Maybank weighing on the benchmark index.

The FBM KLCI was 0.19% lower at 1,845.89 at the 12.30pm break. There were 365 losers versus 327 gainers while 321 other counters were traded unchanged.

Turnover was RM752.52 million on a volume of 944.24 million shares. 

Among the losers, Maybank dropped 11 sen to RM9.38, Faber slid 9 sen to RM3.49, Lafarge fell 21 sen to RM9.87 and Pestech was down 10 sen to RM5.45.

In the region, Chinese stocks  advanced with the Shanghai's A share index gained 1.4% to 4,012.97 at the 11:30 a.m break after data showed Chinese consumer prices rose more than expected and declines in production costs stabilised.
