SHAH ALAM: SP Setia Bhd, a property developer controlled by Permodalan Nasional Bhd, expects sales to pick up in the second half of the year after a sluggish start.

The company, which derives 60% of its sales from the domestic market, has been hit by softening demand, as local buyers kept to the sidelines ahead of the implementation of the goods and services tax on April 1 amid worries about the health of the economy.
