February inflation rate rises a marginal 0.1%

PETALING JAYA: The inflation rate for February rose just 0.1% from a year ago, mainly due to the significant decline in transport costs as the Government cut petrol prices that month due to the slump in global crude oil prices.

The Statistics Department said that the inflation rate, as measured by the consumer price index (CPI), fell 0.6% from January, mainly due to lower transport costs.
