CCM to take writedown

KUALA LUMPUR: Chemical Company of Malaysia Bhd (CCM) will take a writedown on its Medan plant assets and recognise an impairment loss of RM36.8mil, as it “couldn’t justify” having Medan on its books any longer, said group managing director Leonard Ariff Abdul Shatar.

He said that excluding the writedown of the Medan investment, which contributed to a total net loss of RM47.5mil for its fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2014, CCM’s performance in 2014 was almost identical to 2013.
