MEDIA and communications agency PHD Malaysia clinched a gold for its innovative HTC Hijack campaign at the 2015 Mob-Ex Awards, South-East Asia’s premier event celebrating mobile marketing excellence.
PHD says in a statement that it collaborated with InMobi to promote the launch of HTC One Max and highlight its unique operating system – HTC Sense, which seamlessly incorporates the users’ Facebook data.
InMobi leveraged the rich media technology to provide users with a simulated experience of using a HTC One Max. The ad ‘hijacked’ the users’ phone and filled the screen with an interactive ad unit to provide a simulated experience of using an HTC One Max. It automatically displayed the current time and weather based on the users’ location, while its news feed section and photo gallery mirrored the content from the users’ Facebook page upon logging in. The ad unit allowed for user interaction with a feature to test out the camera functionality and to listen to a simulated phone call from a friend.
