Ministry forms group to chart growth of timber industry

KUALA LUMPUR: The Plantation Industries and Commodities Ministry has formed a focus group to help the timber industry chart its growth and achieve its RM53bil export target by 2020, its minister, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said.

The focus group, made up of timber industry players and associations, would meet in one or two weeks to brainstorm on issues affecting the industry and find ways to assist it, he told reporters after opening a four-day Export Furniture Exhibition 2015, here yesterday.
