Hap Seng earnings soar to RM188mil in 4th quarter

KUALA LUMPUR: Hap Seng Consolidated Bhd’s net profit jumped 32.06% to RM188.43mil for the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2014 from RM142.69mil a year ago due to improved contributions from all divisions except the plantation and property segments.

However, revenue was down 4.84% to RM983.27mil for the quarter compared to RM1.03bil previously mainly due to weaker revenue contributions from plantations, fertiliser trading, property and trading as well as quarry and building materials.
