Genting posts 43% lower Q4 earnings of RM274mil

PETALING JAYA: Conglomerate Genting Bhd’s earnings for the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2014 came in 43% lower at RM273.84mil compared with a year earlier even though revenue increased 5% to RM4.62bil.

The lower profits were mainly attributed to lower hold percentage in the premium players business for Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore and Resorts World Genting in Malaysia, higher bad debt recovery in the UK casino business and lower palm product selling prices for Malaysia plantation business.
