Semicond equipment makers report monthly decline in orders


PETALING JAYA: North America-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers reported a month-on-month decline in orders in January due to the higher base effect in December, but the industry group sees a resumption in growth.

The Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturers Industry (Semi) said its members posted US$1.31bil (RM4.12bil) in global orders worldwide in January (three-month average basis) and a book-to-bill ratio of 1.03.
