PetChem Q4 net profit rises 11% to RM500mil

PETALING JAYA: Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd’s (PetChem) net profit rose 11% to RM500mil in the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, from RM450mil a year earlier, on higher production and sales volume following stronger operational performance.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the group said the utilisation rate of its plants increased to 88% compared with 66% in the corresponding quarter of 2013 with improvement in methane gas supply and utilities supply as well as better plant reliability.
