BANGKOK: Thailand's cabinet approved a plan on Wednesday to accelerate government spending this fiscal year, especially by investment funds as the junta tries to revive the economy after months of political unrest hit growth last year.
The military seized power in May to end turmoil, but has struggled to spur Southeast Asia's second-largest economy as exports are weak and domestic demand subdued, putting pressure on the government to speed up spending to boost growth.
