SINCE hitting an all-time high of 6,092.057 seven years ago, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index had been one of Asia’s most sluggish markets in subsequent years during the Global Financial Crisis.
However, Chinese equities made a turnaround last year as China-A shares rallied – bringing about strong gains, with the Shanghai Composite Index delivering double-digit returns of 51%.
