Ford sales in Asean rise 5%; in Msia 31%


The Ford Ranger was the best-selling pickup truck last year in the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar, and the second-best seller in Malaysia.

KUALA LUMPUR: Ford Motor Company today said it achieved a second consecutive record performance in Malaysia in 2014 with retail sales rising 31% year-on-year to 13,938 units, while its overall sales for Asean rose more than 5% to 100,824 units.

The company said the feat was driven by record performances in the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia and Myanmar, as well as market share gains in Thailand.
