Higher 3.15% new vehicle sales this year

2015 Frost & Sullivan Malaysia Automotive Outlook briefing with Frost & Sullivan Senior Partner Kavan Mukhtya.

KUALA LUMPUR: Frost & Sullivan sees new vehicle sales this year growing by 3.15% year-on-year to 685,950 units, driven by passenger car demand despite the uncertainty of the impending implementation of the goods and services tax (GST) and tightening of credit by financial institutions.

“The high back orders in 2014 from Perodua Axia and Proton Iriz are likely to support vehicle sales growth this year,” said senior partner Kavan Mukhtyar at Frost & Sullivan’s Malaysia automotive outlook briefing yesterday.
