KUALA LUMPUR: CIMB ended 2014 first in Bloomberg’s Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and Debt Capital Markets (DCM) as well as first in Dealogic’s Equity Capital Market (ECM) league tables despite the tougher market conditions faced by the Malaysian capital markets last year.
CIMB said in a statement that notable M&A deals in 2014 included SapuraKencana Petroleum Bhd’s US$898mil acquisition of Newfields Malaysia Holding Bhd, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd’s acquisition of equity stakes in two Turkish airports and Goldis Bhd’s RM2.6bil acquisition of equity interest in IGB.
