Maybank's Anfin Bhd holds final meeting

KUALA LUMPUR: Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) said one of its units Anfin Bhd, which had been placed under members' voluntary liquidation on May 26, 2004 has held its final meeting on Thursday.

Anfin is a unit of Myfin Bhd, which in turn is wholly-owned by Maybank.

"As a result of a series of corporate exercises undertaken by Maybank Group, Anfin had transferred its business (all assets and liabilities) to Mayban Finance Bhd (currently known as Myfin) on July 31, 1999 and had ceased its operations on  Aug 3, 1999.

"Subsequently, Myfin transferred its business to Maybank on Oct 1, 2004," it said.

Maybank said the dissolution of Anfin will not have any material effect on the earnings or assets of Maybank for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2014.

"Anfin shall be dissolved on the expiration of three months after the lodgment of the relevant statutory return with the Companies Commission of Malaysia," it noted.
