PETALING JAYA: Wah Seong Corp Bhd’s strategy to develop a portfolio of renewable energy and power plants in Cambodia is gaining traction after the group secured a deal to sell electricity in the country.
In its filing with Bursa Malaysia, Wah Seong said its indirect subsidiary, P.M.T.I Energy (Cambodia) Co Ltd (PMTIEC), had signed a power purchase agreement with Baitang (Kampuchea) plc to sell up to 3.5MW per hour of any and all electric energy to the latter over 20 years. The contract may be renewed and extended perpetually by mutual agreement between the two parties, Wah Seong said.
