Sona committed to Salamander deal


PETALING JAYA: Sona Petroleum Bhd said it remained committed to complete a proposed transaction with Salamander Energy plc under the terms of the sale and purchase agreement dated July 18.

It said it had received a notice stating that the board of Salamander Energy had received a proposed offer from Ophir Energy Plc for the entire issued and to be issued share capital of Salamander Energy. “This is a proposed offer and not a firm offer which has to be submitted by Nov 24, unless this date is extended by Salamander Energy,” Sona Petroleum said in an announcement to Bursa Malaysia.
