KUALA LUMPUR: The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), the country’s biggest trade group, hopes the Government will keep the goods and services tax (GST) rate steady at 6% for at least three years.
“ACCCIM supports the Government’s measure to introduce the GST. However, we hope that the Government will keep the 6% GST rate for a period of at least three to five years, and allow for a two-year grace period of learning and settling down,” ACCCIM president Datuk Lim Kok Cheong told a media conference on the ACCCIM 2014 SME Survey Report yesterday.
