KLCI closes Thursday lower, FGV weighs


KUALA LUMPUR: The FBM KLCI fell marginally lower on Thursday's close with dragged by plantations and CIMB, as investors were still concerned on China's softening economy outlook.

Among key regional markets:

Nikkei 225 rose 1.14% to 17,392.79

Hong Kong Hang Seng Index rose 0.34% to 24,019.94

Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index fell 0.36% to 2,485.61

Taiwan Stock Exchange Weighted Index rose 0.69% to 8,980.67

Korea Stock Exchange KOSPI Index fell 0.34% to 1,960.51

Straits Times Index STI rose 0.65% to 3,304.93

Crude oil fell 42 cents to US$76.76 and Brent 70 cents to US$79.68.

Spot gold was down US$3.67 to US$1,158.93
