TNB to ramp up capex


PETALING JAYA: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has committed a whopping RM23.3bil to capital expenditure (capex), averaging almost RM6bil a year between 2014 and 2017, to ensure reliable and stable electricity supply for the country.

“TNB will steadily raise its annual capex spending for its distribution and transmission business in the next three years to RM6.5bil by 2017 from RM5.3bil in 2013 to further bring down the number of power supply disruptions as measured by the system average interruption duration index (SAIDI),” a source said.
