KUALA LUMPUR: The US$270bil (RM864bil) global sukuk market has significant potential to fund infrastructure projects for the Gulf Cooperation Council, African and Asian regions, says Bank Negara governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz (pic).
She said Asia required a funding of US$8.3 trillion until 2020 for infrastructure projects and in the Middle East, it is estimated to be US$2 trillion.
